A shepherd and a wolf can speak the same sentence.
The words will not tell you which one you are hearing. The difference is never in the words. It is in the door. One mouth speaks the truth and a door opens somewhere in you, back out into your own life. The other mouth speaks the same truth and a door closes, softly, and then another.
So this is not a test of whether what you are being taught is true. It probably is. It is a test of what it is doing to you.
Do not only listen to the sentence. Watch what happens to the door.

You were not a fool.
Nobody is dragged into a place like that. You are welcomed. You are seen, and fed, and prayed over, and put to work on something that feels like the reason you were born. And then you are folded, one small surrender at a time, each one asked for in the language of God, each one so nearly right that saying no feels like saying no to him.
If you got out, and you lie awake calling yourself a fool for what you gave and what you believed, hear this before anything else. You believed true things. You were folded by someone who knew exactly how good you were, because your goodness was the instrument. The shame belongs to the one who played it.
None of this asks you to accuse anyone, leave anything, or say a word out loud. An honest house passes every one of these questions without noticing, the way a healthy man passes a checkup, so you risked nothing true by running them.
If any of it landed, say it out loud to someone outside the room, someone who knew you before. And if you are carrying more than a page can hold, a counselor who understands coercive control is an ordinary and good thing to reach for.
The rest of it is a book.
Eleven true sentences, the kind you have heard in scripture or from any teacher worth hearing. Each one in the honest mouth first, because the truth deserves that. Then the twist, the small added clause that turns surrender to God into surrender to a man. Then where I lived it, in rooms I will not name. Then the test you can carry into any living room.
